LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michael D. MacDonald recently kicked off National Reading Month on March 1 by reading to students at Fox Elementary School in Macomb Township and Trinity Lutheran Church School in Clinton Township.
“Improving reading levels is vital to the future of our state, and reading to children at a young age can help them develop a love of reading and an interest in learning,” said MacDonald, R-Macomb Township. “It is always a great time meeting students and sharing a good story with them. I want to thank Fox Elementary and Trinity Lutheran for welcoming me to read to their students.”
In an effort to promote the importance of reading, MacDonald will continue reading to students at local elementary schools throughout the month.
