LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michael D. MacDonald and Macomb County Commissioner Leon Drolet led a “How to appeal your property tax” workshop on Monday at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library — North Branch in Macomb Township.
“Our local assessors do their best to accurately determine a home’s value with the information they have, but the process is not perfect,” said MacDonald, R-Macomb Township. “However, homeowners who believe their assessments are in error may appeal them. We had a great turnout for our workshop to help guide people through the appeal process, and I want to thank Commissioner Drolet for his excellent presentation.”
Homeowners who were unable to attend MacDonald’s workshop can download a useful packet on “How to Effectively Appeal Your Property Tax Assessment” from the senator’s website at https://www.SenatorMichaelMacDonald.com/publications/.
The packet is provided at no charge and is designed to help make the property tax appeal process less confusing and more effective.
