LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michael D. MacDonald announced on Monday that he will serve on the important Senate Appropriations Committee for the 100th Legislature.
“I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to pass a responsible state budget that helps improve our state and meets the needs of families in Macomb County and our state — while living within our means,” said MacDonald, R-Macomb Township.
In his role on the committee directing state spending, MacDonald will serve as vice-chair on the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs subcommittee and as a member on the subcommittees for Transportation, Universities and Community Colleges, and Community Health/Human Services.
In addition to being on the Appropriations Committee, MacDonald will also serve on the Senate Oversight Committee and the Senate Health Policy and Human Services Committee.
“Ensuring we effectively and wisely use taxpayer dollars is critical, and so is holding our government accountable for how they actually use our limited resources,” MacDonald said. “In that effort, I am proud to be also serving on the committees on Oversight and Health Policy and Human Services.”
